Our community bears the indirect expense of removing garbage and recycling off island through our taxes. More importantly, it is also incredibly daunting for our Depot staff to manage the increased amount of garbage and recycling from the spike in our summer population.  You are asked to remove your own garbage and recycling from your rental before you leave.  

Please:

1. Consider taking some of your recycling home with you
2. Donate your clean, refundable bottles an cans to the Hornby Island Daycare Society bottle drop off located across the road from the community centre at the back of the daycare centre.
3. Ensure you remove your own garbage and recycling from your rental
4. Provide extra time if you are going to the Hornby Island Recycling Depot, it is a very busy place and the staff work hard to help the visitors as well as those who live on Hornby.  Be patient and let them know you appreciate them.
